Ayers Rock - Uluru

IMG_3296 After four hours of sleep it was at 5.00 clock again from the springs. After a quick coffee we went back to Ayers Rock. This time around it that we can get the east side into view. We parked our camper on the roadside and Romain again boiled water for coffee. When I then wanted to pour the coffee you forgot about me, that the handles are made of iron and I grabbed her close to the pan. It hissed and screamed and I had a leathery red skin on the left index finger. Since we have the same pans I should have known better. As Romain nurses, it was obvious who she nursed me.

P1010072 Clock at 6:23, the first rays of sun came over the horizon. Even tourists were captured by helicopter in the air around the daily spectacle. The colors were due to small clouds which are not inserted before the sun is extreme. For some pictures, but it was enough.

Then we drove to a parking lot at the base of Uluru. We parked and decided to walk once around the rock. These are about 10 km and it was still early and not too hot, we were off. We saw so many different places at Ayers Rock, which are sacred to the Aborigines, and neither may be photographed or entered.

P1010084 For example, there is a place that may only Aboriginalmännern and others that are entered only by Aboriginalfrauen. That they feel welcome at Uluru, one could well understand, there are ideal places cave at the foot, which offer protection and plenty of space. At these places you can also find some cave drawings, some of which are several thousand years old. Even otherwise there are plenty of holes, cracks and shafts, all of which find a meaning in the legends.

P1010092 Tjukurpa is forms the foundation of the Anangu Aboriginal people. Code of Conduct, the coexistence of the people who supply the country of origin to the present time are rooted in it. When other people speak of the Dreamtime, which is not translated quite correctly, they mean Tjukurpa. It also answers questions about the origin of the world.

P1010094 At eight, it was then already really warm, the flies invaded in vain for the minds, as we have now acquired a network, which eliminates the constant typical wave front of the face. So you could enjoy the walk as well. Helene and I quickly realized the only time that we had too little water there. The consumption of liquid is greater than we had imagined at the start cool.

P1010078 3 hours later we arrived in the circumnavigation of our campers. Next, we went to the Cultural Center, which was prepared by the Anangu, giving us a good insight into nutrition, work and habits of the Aborigines, who had lived around Uluru. It will also increase their support and talk to the old approach the land.

Then we drove back to the resort and treated ourselves to people in the restaurant, Fish, chips and spaghetti. And to crown a true espresso. Then we had to finally say goodbye now Aurélie and Romain. In return he touched down then another camper in the parking lot, which still required the exchange of addresses. Then they drove to Alice Springs, because in a week, they must already be back in Darwin, where it goes back to the homeland.

P1010098 We were then the most necessary shopping and went back to the campsite. In the meantime, was noon and very hot. Along with the fatigue and the short night hike we wanted to actually read in the camper, but while both were asleep, and woke up again only after two hours. Then put on a stormy thunderstorms. We drove one the sun protection of neighboring campers, because he only hung down and watched the storm. Tomorrow we will go to the Kata Tjuta, also called the Olgas, and then continue our journey - the south of Australia.
