Today we had to shoot no more sunrise, and we were on first at 6:30 clock. After a few attempts with a rather unstable internet connection, we set off to Kata Tjuta, also called The Olgas. This mountain range is only 40 kilometers away from Uluru. Since we were already a bit late, we started the impressions not walk by a special digital camera.
Then we headed back to the mountain to photograph the Tagesquiz:
Which mountain is seen in the background?
Then it was called back all the way to go to the Stuart Highway. The name comes from John McDouall Stuart, who managed the first to cross the continent in the year 1861/62 from north to south. The Stuart Highway was one of the most adventurous routes in Australia until it was paved.
Before we met on the Stuart Highway, we made a stop on the Lasseter Highway and bought a souvenir.
Finally on the Stuart Highway, we drove further south, with the ultimate aim Adelaide. For the first time since we are in Australia, the whole sky was gray and overcast. For rain it was not enough until the evening. The cloud cover, however, the heat pressed to the ground and we quickly became tired.
Already at 15.00 clock, we decided to stay at the Roadhouse Kulgera. The campsite was very cheap, offered power and pool and shower. Ok, the pool and the shower we did not then voluntary. But otherwise the place was in order. We cooked our dinner at dusk today and will go well early in the horizontal.
