After a very cold night, I woke up at seven clock already. Half an hour later I stood up then. After tightening it was unbearable and then the wind had settled over night, so I could enjoy the first cup of coffee outside. The sky was a little cloudy in the camper and it was very humid.
We left the bed for the time being as it is and set off directly. In the parking lot directly on Lake Tekapo was already the sun appeared and so we ate our morning muesli there. After washing up we went to fill up and bought a little something. Soon we arrived at the Lake Pukaki and saw just how the clouds moved in front of the Mt Cook in the distance.
Then we drove past the Salmonfarm and took the road to Mt Cook Village. a 55 km long path next to Lake Pukaki Glentanner Park leads on past into the valley. In the Village, we tried a place in the Mueller Hut to get, but unfortunately, all 28 seats booked for the night. Another house was out of the question because we had no gas stove with.
So we decided in favor of a hike from the campsite. We hiked about two suspension bridges on the Mueller Glacier Lake over to the Hooker Glacier Lake.
From there, you looked wonderful on the glacier at the foot of Mount Cook. Mt Cook is 3754 m the highest mountain of New Zealand. He also served for scenes of Lord of the Rings.
The walk lasted from 14.00 bis 18.00 clock and we were pretty tired after that. Especially after we still had not cooked spaghetti and we had to suddenly laugh about everything, we noticed the emergence of fatigue. Unfortunately, it has no shower here and there remains only one lick for the night.
Tomorrow will be probably one of the Pelennor Fields, the fields in Twizel with the greatest statistical rise for the longest battle of the film series "Lord Of The Rings".
