New Zealand led after the first flight to Santiago de Chile, because there are no direct connections to the island. Actually quite a detour, but the story and because of the interest we took this into account. In Santiago we stayed right next to the airport. The Holiday Inn with the many earthquake gave us a home for one night.
The next day we went to the Easter Island. The little cozy airport is very inviting. And so were the following five days. We rented a car and drove once around the island in order to be able to inspect all the sites. Our stay was a property called "Chez Cecilia". It was not a luxury but for us very comfortable and we had everything we needed.
